Safe Spaces Initiative
Creating safe community spaces where young people can access recreational activities, counseling, and peer support as alternatives to substance use.
About This Project
The Safe Spaces Initiative addresses the growing challenge of substance abuse among young people by providing attractive alternatives. The program establishes community centers that offer creative arts workshops, sports leagues, music programs, and life skills training. Trained peer counselors are available for confidential support, and referral pathways connect at-risk youth with professional services. By creating environments where young people feel valued and engaged, the initiative reduces the appeal of substance use as a coping mechanism.
Objectives
- 1Establish 3 Safe Spaces centers in target communities
